Recording

We've decided on an alternative strategy for Mjolnir.

Rather than trying to form a band as a group of musicians, we're going to concentrate on recording our songs first. Finding good musicians who have a passion for the music we are creating is quite challenging, especially in a small place like the one we come from. There aren't enough musicians who are into the type of music we are producing. Most of them either want to be in a 'nu' metal type band or can't actually play to the standard we will be expecting.

So, rather than give this up and go play in a wedding band or something equally benign, we've decided to focus all our attention on getting our songs recorded. If we do this then it naturally follows that good people will come to us. If we have something to show them, something exceptional that they can listen to, they are more likely to be excited by it and want to commit themselves to rising to the level of playing that we require.

Next week will be the first attempt at recording our first song will begin next week with the recording of the drums. We're going to be recording in our practice room with the equipment we have to hand so it won't be of 'studio-quality' just yet, but we need to release this as soon as possible. One thing we've learned from our past musical endevours is that if you're not doing something then, in the eyes of the public, you don't exist. So we're going to be releasing as often as possible which might mean a first release before the end of this year.
